Who is John Goddard?
The anonymous writer first gained a following on 𝕏 (after Elon bought it and allowed free speech on the platform, that is). Because prior to that, the social media landscape was such that certain ideas could not be said and, therefore, certain writers could not publish.
He says he writes fast fiction: vignettes, fragments, short sharp glimpses into a not-so-distant future. Imagine a world where income tax is 80%, State-mandated euthanasia is the leading cause of death, and Digital Dollars are designed to enslave the populous. This is Goddard’s world of fiction, dreamt up 240 characters at a time, designed to be consumed in an instant and then lost to the deluge of internet information under which we are all drowning.
John Goddard is the Social Media Age’s answer to dystopian writers like Orwell, Zamyatin, Huxley. Not only does he publish works of fiction, but also widely-read polemics condemning the current government agenda, which appears intent on destroying personal rights and freedoms.
About

“I have read all of Orwell, Welles, Asimov, LeGuin, Dick (Phillip K), Ray Bradbury etc. As much as I admire the masters, your style and content evokes more feelings than any of them.”

“This is pure poetry. It should be standard reading in all schools!”
